Free To Stay Program!

We all want a place to call home, even if it’s a virtual home in a virtual world! There’s nothing like having your own space to do whatever it is you feel like doing. However, we all know it can get a little pricey in SL. For those on a gold hunting budget like me, can’t earn enough to pay for a decent home.

So I decided to go home searching! I found a shelter which was my temporary home for awhile until I found Girl Town which was a lovely group home for female only! I enjoyed both places very much. They were both very friendly but it wasn’t “my” home…I continued my search and found a program hosted by the nicest people ever!

The program is called “Free To Stay“. It is hosted by a non-profit group called Sambiglyon. The Free To Stay program or FtS for short is a wonderful program. They offer tenants a free 1000 sq m (30x30m) plot of land or a private skybox, a 50 prim object placement allowance, and free media streaming to your land! How awesome is that? In addition to the 50 prim allowance, you have the option to increase your limit by paying $1L for 1 additional prim.Sambiglyon also have homes & houses available to those who can’t afford to buy a home of their own! They also extend their FtS to charities, non-profits, and start up businesses! In order to apply for this program all you have to do is contact them! It’s that simple. As of right now, there is a waiting list but don’t let that stop you from applying! As you wait for a spot, stay at a shelter or a group home. It won’t be your own personal space but it’s still somewhere you can call home!

*Update: The website has changed and the Free to Stay program is no longer listed on the website. Even though it’s not listed, it is still being offered as of July 23, 2017.

Hidden Gems – Malt Fashions

Malt Fashions is one of the many gems in SL. Providing nothing but the best quality female clothing and accessories to avatars for 8 years and going!

Malt Fashions is owned by Ms. Khea Karas. She designs all of Malt’s beautiful clothing herself! I spoke to her briefly before I wrote this post to get some permission to use her pictures and she was just so delightful! She was very professional, friendly, and simply wonderful to talk to. If you ever run into any problems at her store or with her designs, you can see just how wonderful she is! Here’s Ms. Khea’s description of Malt!

MALT  is designed to make you stand out from the rest. Using a combination of 3D rendered and hand drawn textures, MALT will make you feel playful, sexy, and chic. Designed by a Real Life Graphic Designer, Khea Karas, these clothes will catch the eye wherever you go.

Malt Fashion clothing price range from $50L – $450L while the accessories range from $30L – $199L. There are a variety of beautiful dresses, absolutely chic tops, fashionable jeans and pants, and well-made accessories!

Malt also has a whole outlet, a section of the store dedicated to some amazingly made clothes for only $50L! You can find this section to the left with all the $50L Sale tags on the window!

As a reward for buying from Malt, there is a reward program that earns you store credit for every purchase you make! Store credit, however, is not available when purchasing from the outlet.

Happy 12th Birthday Second Life!

Second Life is now 12 years old! It’s been up and running since June 23, 2003! To celebrate Second Life’s 12th birthday, SL Community is throwing a huge celebration!

There are plenty of live concerts, mini events, and other events like some stand-up comedy, exhibits, etc. There are different events running around the clock so there’s a little something for those in a different time zone! Here’s a schedule!

The event I’m looking forward to the most is the SL12B Hunt!! Nothing beats a celebration than free stuff! I actually haven’t started on any of the events yet (I’m so busy!) but when I do, I hope to see you there! There are actually 2 hunts going on for SL12B!
